Why did you select this idea for the magazine? What are some similar references you've used that helped you influence your layout and design? Include images of those references.

 I selected this idea for the magazine because it would bring light to today’s society and the social systemic issues that have occurred in the past 400 years in America (more likely around the world) and how it has affected the black community and the country as a whole. As for my idea, I decided to include about social issues like systemic racism and police brutality used against black people. 

Some similar references that helped me influence my layout and design would be articles and cover magazines such as the ones in time, the New York magazine, Time, and etc...
