Chapter 4: Elements of Narrative Reflection

  1. Narration is telling the story through action while narrator is the one who is telling or narrating the story.
  2. The difference between an omniscient narration and a restricted narration would be that an omniscient narration mentions and calls out the feelings of the character while a restricted narration limits the feelings of the character to the audience.
  3. The difference between a camera narrator and a third person narrator is that a camera narrator can use two points of view that can equal first and third person meanwhile a third person narrator provides info Who belongs to the people being talked about. Last but not least, the difference between a first person narrator and a third person narrator tells the story from their own objective and point of view.
  4. major character can be a flat character. major character doesn’t necessarily have to be a complicated character, any character can be a flat character. minor character can be a round character because it is ultimately on how a character is characterized.
  5. The climax is the most intense part of the narration or story. Due to this, the climax helps the character make a huge sacrifice to achieve their goal.
  6. The diegesis of the story can be described as the narrative in movies such as for example; events, characters, settings, sounds and objects that makeup the diegesis. Diegetic elements is the makeup of all the elements that form the diegesis, while non diegetic worry elements are elements that come outside of the story or frame.
  7. Major characters force characters to choose between or alternative paths, while minor characters add complexity and texture to the action of the characters but to a lesser extent.
